Who We Are
Seven Memories is a family-run business, founded by husband and wife team Eugene and Lauren du Plessis. Eugene is a multiple award-winning director, recognized internationally with awards from Australia, Europe, and Los Angeles. His short film Herringbone earned him a humanitarian award, highlighting his profound understanding of the human experience and his ability to tell stories that deeply resonate. With over a decade of experience in the film industry, including documentaries which have aired on Hulu, A&E, and other large platforms, Eugene brings a masterful eye to every project. He is also a skilled photographer and a versatile artist across various mediums.
Lauren studied philosophy at UCLA and holds a doctorate. Her thoughtful approach helps shape each project with depth and meaning.
The Rest of the Team
Joining them is award winning and veteran producer Bianca Fortin, who has a background in both reality television and documentary storytelling. She has worked on well-known series such as The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Fit Kids, I'd Do Anything, and American Inventor, among others. With a keen understanding of storytelling and production, she brings her expertise to Seven Memories, helping craft compelling and beautifully executed films that honor each individual’s story
